When to use: 

  • Massage and vibration can have multiple purposes and serve different functions. It can be a calming input when a child is overwhelmed, overstimulated or anxious. But it can also be used to help wake up a sleepy nervous system as well.

 

How to use: 

  • Use if a child is really struggling to calm or soothe. Older children can even use it on themselves if they want others to touch them. 
  • Massage if often most beneficial on hands, feet, arms, legs and back. 
  • Always be sure to ask for permission and consent before using massage. If introducing massage for the first time, provide massage for only a few moments at a time, it may actually be a noxious stimuli for some.
