When to use: 

  • Some children are more sensitive to noise. They may cover their ears, put their head down, tuck their head into their clothing or even act out as a way to communicate their distress with noise. 

 

How to use: 

  • If you know a child is sensitive to noise, prepare them for noise environments and have headphones available to them. 
  • Never force a child to wear them. 
  • Place headphones in an area that is easily accessible for the child.

 

Caregivers

 

When to use:

  • If you know your child is sensitive to a particular noise, prepare them for the noise and remind them where the headphones are located.
  • Never force your child to wear them.
  • Pack headphones along if you know you are going somewhere noise may be distressing (the grocery store, sporting events, family events, birthday parties, etc.).
