Meet Our
Toddler Lead Teachers

Kendra Huls

Toddler 2 Lead Teacher

"Hello, my name is Kendra, and I am a teacher in the toddler program. I am very excited to get the opportunity to meet all of the families and help the children at Cultivate Mankato explore new things. I have lived in Mankato my whole life. I went to Franklin Elementary school, Mankato East, and South Central College. I am now attending Minnesota State University to get a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Studies. I have two fish, and I love adventure. A few of my favorite things to do with children in the classroom are playing and introducing new sensory objects, playing with different costumes, and making arts and crafts.

I cherish working with toddlers because they are starting to find out who they are. Being a part of that experience is always mind opening. Having a sense of community within the classroom always helps the child learn new things about who they are. I am excited to get to know each child has they start their journey at Cultivate Mankato."

Abbey Weilage

Toddler 3 Lead Teacher

"Hi, my name is Abbie. I am a lead teacher in the preschool program here at Cultivate Mankato. I recently graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in Spanish. I’m from Cottage Grove, Minnesota and I have one younger sister who currently attends the U of M. I love the arts, and my favorite thing to do in my free time is paint. My future goals are: to work with kids in a clinical psychological setting, to be fluent in Spanish, to be a successful painter, and to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. As a teacher, representation is important in my classroom. We are a diverse community, and I strive to provide the opportunity for children to see themselves in their toys, their art, and their books. I believe childcare is all about relationships, with both the kids and their families. I love getting to know families and talking with them at the end of the day, and I look forward to building those relationships with all of you!"
